Croatia’s PM Plenković received in NRW

Saturday, 16 March 2019, Government House, Düsseldorf, North Rhine-Westphalia: Croatian Prime Minister, Andrej Plenković, was received for bilateral talks by his NRW counterpart Armin Laschet.

The Croatian delegation included the country’s ambassador to German, Dr. Gordan Grlić Radman as well as the General Consul based in Düsseldorf, Dr. Ivan Bulić. During his novice visit to NRW Prime Minister Plenković signed the governmental guestbook of NRW. 

Prime Minister Andrej Plenković was in NRW to partake as a recipient of the Steiger Awards 2019 in Essen, wherein he was honoured for his pro-European political commitments. Premier Armin Laschet held the eulogy for the Croatian head of government during the awards bestowal in the category “Europe”. 

Approximately 50,000 Croats live in NRW. The cities of Neuss and Rijeka, as well as Lindlar and Kastela, hold city partnerships. 

Andrej Plenković is head of government since October 2016. Previously he served as a top diplomat and member of the European Parliament -likewise Vice-President pro tempore of the Committee for Foreign Affairs.
