The Embassy of Pakistan recently promoted the “King of Fruits” in The Hague, one of the most popular and best-loved fruits worldwide with hundreds of varieties cultivated for exportation in this country.

The most popular commercial varieties of Pakistani mangoes – all different in colours and sizes, and each with a distinct flavour and taste – include Anwar Retol, Dasehri, Langra, Chaunsa, Sindhri, Saharni, Alphonso, Pairi, Fazli, and Neelam.

The King of Fruits is grown in the Punjab and Sindh provinces of Pakistan and available in abundance from May to September.

The Netherlands is a very important trading partner for Pakistan being the fifth largest importer of Pakistani produce in EU and tenth largest importer overall for Pakistan. Besides mango, the Netherlands imports rice, oranges, cotton, wheat, textile, garments, leather and sport goods.

The Netherlands is also among the top ten investors in Pakistan. The country has been home for major Dutch multinational companies like Shell, Unilever, Philips, Akzo Nobel, Macro, and Damn shipyards among others.

Here follows a short video on the successful Pakistani Mango Exhibition at Hilton, The Hague, organised together with Diplomat Magazine.

A Pakistani Rice Exhibition in collaboration with Diplomat Magazine will open soon.
