Maldives and Trinidad and Tobago accredited to NL

Wednesday, 14 December 2016, Den Haag: His Majesty The King of the Netherlands received in audience two Brussels-based ambassadors for their formal accreditation to The Netherlands. 

Republic of the Maldives to The Netherlands, Belgium, the EU, the UK, the Scandinavian countries and Spain: HE Ambassador Ahmed Shiaan who is resident in Brussels since 2014. 

This is the very first time that the Maldives accredit an ambassador to The Netherlands. Ambassador Shiaan was accompanied by Counsellor Fathimath Ghina from the Embassy of Maldives based in Brussels.

Republic of Trinidad and Tobago to the Benelux countries, the EU, the OPCW, the ACP Group, the French Republic, the Holy See and Switzerland: HE Ambassador Colin Connelly first ambassadorship(s) have taken him to Brussels. Previously he held the rank of Counsellor and Chargé d’affaires at the Mission of Trinidad and Tobago to the USA.
