New visa regime in Bahrain

A multiple entry-visa scheme is now in place in the Kingdom of Bahrain as announced by Ministry of Interior Undersecretary of Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA), HE Sheikh Rashid bin Khalifa bin Hamad Al Khalifa. 

The changes to entry visa procedures through the use of multi-entry visa for visitors to GCC countries can now be carried out online through the e-visa website (www.evisa.gov.bh). Visitors thereafter would be issued a multi-entry visa, valid for one month, with a two weeks length for a stay in Bahrain. Passport holders of 102 countries now benefit from the possibility to apply for an entry visa online, whereas the ones of 62 countries (including EU countries) can get visa upon arrival to the kingdom known for its friendly and efficient business atmosphere. 

A five-year multi-entry visa scheme for four countries is now applicable; USA, Canada, The United Kingdom, Ireland. Moreover one month pre-arranged renewable visiting visa for all nationalities, in addition to on-arrival three-month and single visa for British as well as Irish nationals.

Upon the announcement of the new visa regime His Excellency Sheikh Rashid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa stated that its aim was “to further the progress of Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030 where the government action plan aim to improve the linkage of Bahrain with regional and international markets by upgrading the systems and procedures. This will transform Bahrain into a special place for economic activities for local and foreign companies”.
