Paris, 21 January 2016: French Minister of Culture and Communication, Mme Fleur Pellerin, bestowed upon Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Brunswick and Lüneburg, Princess Caroline of Hanover and Monaco, the prestigious highest rank of Commander in the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres. The Commander’s badge is topped by a gilt twisted ring.
During the award ceremony Minister Fleur Pellerin highlighted The Princess of Hanover’s promotion of the arts through the Prince Pierre Foundation as well as the various cultural organisations whereto she is a patron in Monaco.
Princess Caroline was accompanied by her children, and surrounded by her friends including designer Karl Lagerfeld, Christian Louboutin and Guillaume Gallienne.
Established on 2 May 1957 by the French Ministry of Culture, the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres recognises exemplary contributions to the arts, literature, or the propagation of these fields.
