Friday, 15 June 2018, Kiel, Schleswig-Holstein: US Ambassador to Germany, Richard Grenell paid a maiden visit Schleswig-Holstein, and met privately with the Bundesland’s Premier Daniel Günther at Government House.
For Daniel Günther the main focus of the bilateral meeting was the city partnership of Kiel with San Francisco since last year. End of August 2018, the head of Chancery Dirk Schrödter, shall lead a delegation comprising 70 representatives from the fields of economy, science, research and politics to the Golden Gate Bridge City.
After the warm welcome at Government House Ambassador Grenell partook at a reception offered on the US flagship “USS Mount Whitney” visiting during the Kieler Woche. Home Affairs Minister of Schleswig-Holstein, Hans-Joachim Grote accompanied the ambassador during the function.
