Friday, 23 August 2019, Munich, Free State of Bavaria, Germany: Bavarian State Minister Dr. Florian Herrmann, Head of the State Chancellery and Minister of State for Federal and European Affairs and Media, received  the German Ambassador-designate to the Russian Federation, Dr. Géza Andreas von Geyr, who is due to replace Ambassador Rüdiger von Fritsch, for a meeting focusing on Bavarian-Russian ties. 

Ambassador von Geyr had hitherto served as Under-Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Defence of Germany, albeit a career diplomat since 1991. Von Geyr was likewise Vice-President of the Federal Intelligence Service (Bundesnachrichtendienst) from 2010-2014
