Monday, 18 November 2019, Emirate of Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates: Presidential Representative, the late Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan (b. 1 December 1956) passed away. 

He was the second son of the nation’s founder, the late President, Amir Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, Emir of Abu Dhabi, brother to the incumbent President, Amir Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Emir of Abu Dhabi, and half-brother to Abu Dhabi’s Crown Prince, General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the UAE Armed Forces. 

From 1990 to 2009 the late Sheikh Sultan served as the UAE Deputy Prime Minister; thereafter he was entrusted as Personal Representative to the President in addition to being Chairman of the Media and Cultural centre, Chairman of the Emirates Heritage Club and member of the board of the Supreme Petroleum Council as well as of Abu Dhabi Investment Authority.
