The National Day of Pakistan was celebrated by the Embassy of Pakistan, The Hague with traditional zeal and enthusiasm. A flag hoisting ceremony was held at Pakistan House, which was attended by a large number of Pakistani community including, women and children from different parts of the Netherlands.

The national flag was hoisted by His Excellency Ambassador Suljuk Mustansar Tarar at the tune of national anthem. Messages of the President and Prime Minister for the occasion, highlighting objectives of the creation of Pakistan and the government’s resolve to develop a truly democratic welfare state, were read out to the audience.

The Ambassador in his address reiterated significance of the day for entire nation, paid tribute to the leaders of Pakistan movement and briefed about Prime Minister and Foreign Minister’s initiatives for welfare of overseas Pakistani. He briefed the participants on Pakistan- Netherlands relations and trade between the two countries.

The Ambassador conveyed that Pakistan was successfully hosting the 48th Council of Foreign Ministers of the OIC and was also successful in having the UNGA adopting a resolution against Islamophobia.
