Thursday, 26 April 2018, Washington D.C., USA: American businessman and erstwhile longest serving US spokesperson at the United Nations representation in New York, Richard Grenell, was confirmed by the Senate to become the nation’s head of mission to the Federal Republic of Germany, currently being led by Chargé d’Affaires, Minister Counsellor Kent Logsdon.
Ambassador-designate Grenell had already been nominated by President Donald Trump in September 2017 yet his confirmation process stalled for a few months.
Also the video should stay to tune in at 47:09 to watch:
Albeit a political appointee, Mr Grenell has a plethora of diplomatic experience having served between 2001 and 2008 as Director of Communications and Public Diplomacy at the USA Permanent Representation to the UN and the Security Council based in New York. All in all through four different ambassadors to the UN.
In 2009 he founded the communications consultancy firm Capitol Media Partners.
