Mr Ladislav Hamran, National Member for the Slovak Republic, was re-elected for a second three-year term as Vice-President.
According to Article 28(2) of the Council Decision on Eurojust, and Article 3(1) of the Rules of Procedure of Eurojust, the result of the election will be submitted to the Council for its approval, acting by qualified majority.
Mr Hamran’s career as a prosecutor began in 1997as a trainee at the Regional Prosecutor’s Office in Nitra. In 2000, he was appointed Prosecutor at the District Prosecutor’s Office. He then joined the Office of the General Prosecutor in 2003, first with the Special Prosecutor’s Office and then in the Economic and Financial Crime Section of the Penal Department in 2004, where he worked until his appointment to Eurojust as National Member for the Slovak Republic in September 2007. He was elected Vice-President of Eurojust for the first time in December 2013.
As a specialist in asset recovery and confiscation, Mr Hamran has been a member of the UN group of experts in a comparative study on fraud. He was also the contact point for the Slovak Republic for the CARIN network from 2005 to 2007, and has been Eurojust contact point for CARIN since 2008.
