DIPLOMAT MAGAZINE “For diplomats, by diplomats” Reaching out the world from the European Union First diplomatic publication based in The Netherlands Founded by members of the diplomatic corps on June 19th, 2013. Diplomat Magazine is inspiring diplomats, civil servants and academics to contribute to a free flow of ideas through an extremely rich diplomatic life, full of exclusive events and cultural exchanges, as well as by exposing profound ideas and political debates in our printed and online editions.

The ISPD Protocol & Diplomacy is part of the ISPD+ Innovation in Diplomacy Network. Since its foundation in 2008 the ISPD is one of the Europe’s leading academic institution solely dedicated to Education, Training and Consultancy in International Protocol, Soft Diplomacy, Business Protocol, Official Events, Cross Cultural Intelligence and Corporate Diplomacy, combining these fields in order to bring participants a unique range of study programmes designed and developed by academics from a multi-cultural and interdisciplinary perspective.

In the last 9 years of existence they have trained over 600 professionals, including ambassadors, chiefs of protocol, embassy personnel and many others from 96 countries, working with more than 40 internationally known experts.

The ISPD’s mission is to provide the highest level of expertise, academic standards and advice regarding international protocol and intercultural relations. ‘An understanding of protocol diplomacy and etiquette with the right image can help people make the right impression the first time in any part of the world, let it be a business lunch, a negotiating round, a state ceremony or an international conference. The establishment of successful official and business relations greatly depends on how much we know about others rather than about ourselves.’ Said Mr Thomas Sladko, Protocol and PR Director.

‘Since our creation 9 years ago, our founding students and alumni have had the opportunity to listen to, learn from, and be challenged by leading experts from the fields of international relations, procedures, and conventions, such as the former European Union Ambassador to the Holy See, the former Chief of Royal Protocol of Queen Beatrix of The Netherlands, the former Chief of Protocol of the European Commission, the Head of Information at the International Criminal Court, the former Chief of Protocol of the United Nations, the former Belgian Ambassador to China, and the Head of Protocol of the European Parliament.’
