The Republic of Malta, a State Party to the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court (ICC) since 2002, has made a voluntary unrestricted contribution of EUR 20,000 to the Trust Fund for Victims (TFV), reaffirming its commitment to international justice and the rights of victims of crimes under the Rome Statute.
This unrestricted contribution advances the TFV’s mandate to make visible the plight of victims, mobilise resources for their benefit, and implement programmes that serve them – encompassing both ICC‑ordered reparations and assistance programmes that address the physical, psychological, and material needs of victims and affected communities.
H.E. Kevin Kelly, Member of the Board of Directors of the TFV stated, “We warmly welcome Malta’s renewed support to the Trust Fund for Victims. Malta has demonstrated consistent solidarity with victims and this contribution strengthens our ability to deliver meaningful reparative assistance. I would like to express our sincere appreciation for Malta’s continued support, which helps us restore dignity to victims of Rome Statute crimes.”
H.E. Jeffrey Curmi, Ambassador of the Republic of Malta to the Kingdom of the Netherlands stated: ”Malta remains firmly committed to a victim-centred approach to international justice, promoting accountability for the gravest crimes while recognising the importance of meaningful reparative justice for victims and survivors. To this end, since 2021, Malta has consistently supported the Trust Fund for Victims through annual voluntary contributions. Through this renewed contribution, we reaffirm our commitment to ensuring that victims remain at the centre of international justice.”
Malta has been providing regular support to the TFV every year through voluntary contributions since 2021, reflecting its sustained dedication to a victim‑centred approach within the Rome Statute system.
