On 16 September 2026, ASEAN Ambassadors in the Netherlands gathered at the Thai Residence, hosted by H.E. Asi Mamanee, the Thai Ambassador, to celebrate ASEAN’s 59th anniversary.
The event was filled with vibrant songs and dances from all member states, along with engaging performances, heartfelt speeches, and tasty culinary treats that created a wonderful atmosphere of friendship and unity.
In his welcoming remarks, Ambassador Asi Mamanee shared how ASEAN’s strategic location between the Indian and Pacific Oceans makes it an important hub for connectivity and a key player in global trade and supply chains. But ASEAN is much more than just an economic success; it’s a shining example of how diverse nations can come together to foster peace, stability, and shared prosperity. He proudly stated that as the Chair of the ASEAN Committee in The Hague, Thailand is committed to promoting activities that leverage these strengths for real, practical cooperation. Our goal is simple: we want to create solutions that benefit not only ASEAN and the Netherlands but also the wider global community.
The celebration ended up on a high note with a delightful Thai buffet, featuring mouthwatering dishes like green curry, leaving everyone with smiles on their faces as they departed from the Thai Residence!
