From 28 January 2017, following the resignation of Fra’ Matthew Festing from the office of Grand Master, the Sovereign Order of Malta is being governed by a “Lieutenant ad interim” in the person of His Eminence Fra’ Ludwig Hoffmann von Rumerstein. He shall remain in office until the election of a new Grand Master and Sovereign Prince due to take place on Saturday, 29 April 2017.
Baron Albrecht von Boeselager was reinstated as Grand Chancellor of the Order of Malta, hence Foreign and Interior Minister.
Fra’ Ludwig Hoffmann von Rumerstein was born on 21 January 1937 in Innsbruck.
